This is part 1 of a 2 part series on cost of living in Bangkok with a focus on rent and what you get a particular price point.
Most foreigners I’ve come across have a budge for rent ranging from 6,000 Baht all the way up to 20,000 Baht depending on their line of work.
I have teacher friends who are perpetual broke and I have fellow digital nomad friends and friends with quote “real” jobs making 6,000 USD a month (200,000 Baht).
Since I’m staying at a place I would consider a nice mid rang and have a friend staying at lower end, but still nice place I figured now is an appropriate time to showcase what you get for what price point.
My general advice is to be willing to spend 11-13K for rent as you’ll get a substantial increase in your quality of living.
